London to Oxford
The London-Oxford Classic is a circular leisure bike ride from London to the 'dreaming spires' of ancient Oxford and back, covering some 190 miles. The outward leg follows the Sustrans Thames Valley Cycle Route, whilst the return route crosses the north Chilterns and re-enters London along the Colne Valley Trail and the Grand Union Canal.
Traffic- free patsh, canal towpaths and quiet minor roads take you away from busy traffic (over 50% of the route is off-road). Scenic highlights include Hampton Court, Eton and Windsor, the Chilterns and countless attractive villages.
The guide contains detailed maps and direction tips, plus all the practical information needed to follow this magnificent route between two of England's greatest cities.
